Editing and Copying a Line Item

1 min read

Objective: In this video and/or step by step walkthrough, you’ll learn how to edit or copy a line item inside of your assembly from the assembly manager

Edit Line Items inside of an Assembly

In the Assembly Manager click to highlight or select the Assembly you would like to look at

For this example we selected 8′ Interior Partition and on the right hand side you will see all of the Assembly Line Items included in this particular Assembly

For this example we are editing the 4′ x 8′ Gypsum Board

Click on the Name of the item and the Edit Item window will open

Note: If you change the item here it will also change anywhere else the same item is being used in a different assembly

Edit the Item

For this example we are going to edit the Description of this item from 4′ x 8′ to 4′ x 10′ Gypsum Board

We will also change the Per to reflect the new dimensions

Once you have made all of your changes, click the Save Item button

When you return to the Assembly Manager, you will see your changes are reflected in the Assembly Line Items list

Copy a Line Item

Select the check box by the item you would like to copy

Then click the Copy button

Copy Item Window

The Copy Item window will pop open

If you try to copy the item without making changes you will receive a warning message because you are not allowed to have two of the same items that are calculating the exact same way

For this example we will change the Description to 4′ x 8′ and the Per to 32

Click Copy Item

When you return to your Assembly Manager window, you will see the copied item in your Assembly Line Items list
